Celeb Street Style: Anna Friel

As a big fan of the (prematurely) cancelled series 'Pushing Daisies', I have a huge girl-crush on the English actress Anna Friel. As Chuck, the adorable dead girl, Friel rocked a wardrobe that managed somehow to be both whimsical and classic. In real life, Friel is becoming quite the fashionista in her own right. During a recent 6-month run in a West End production of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', she cause a serious stir by exiting the theater every evening in one knock-out ensemble after the next...

The Unattainable Shoe

The shoes below were featured in an accessories section in the most recent Marie Claire. It was love at first sight and all I want to know is how to make them mine...
AK Anne Klein $89
There is no store listed in the magazine's shopping index and they are nowhere to be seen on the AK Anne Klein website...
I'm sure they just aren't available yet but I hope to find them soon, the longing is killing me...

Fashion Shout Out!

I'm sending a fashion shout out to my good friend Risa Reyes who has been sporting an animal tail accessory for years. These furry friends are being touted as the hot new thing for spring but my girl was way ahead of the curve..
judging by the outfit, I think its Balenciaga... but don't quote me..

Fashion Dilemma!

For the past few seasons, artfully designed pants have been a huge trend amongst the world's most stylish ladies. While these trousers seem to be the clever girls retort to the skinny jean trend that has ruled the better part of the last decade, I find they can be equally, if not more, unforgiving on a curvy figure.

I have been on the hunt for an interesting pair to test drive (within my budget) and have been thus far unsuccessful.
That is until I spotted these pleated, paper-bag waisted, ankle-skimming beauties over at Urban Outfitter's website. They are available in 3 colors (shown below in Black) and while I think they are very cute, I don't know how they would fit my figure.... to buy or not to buy? that is the question....

I love Kelly Cutrone so much that I may go outside and cry about it...

If you're a huge fan of Bravo TV like I am, then you're probably already aware of fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone. What you may not know is that she has a book out in which she is sharing all of her advice on how to be a tough, successful chick...
I just ordered the book from Amazon.com and I'll report back on how awesome it is....

Steal Of The Day..

Run, don't walk, to the nearest H&M for the $15 dollar off jacket and blazer sale... Being totally obsessed with blazers, I was pretty excited to see this sale going on during a quick run to the mall yesterday.

I got a little cropped number similar to this one...
AND a long, light-weight army green jacket that looked perfect for a rainy spring day..
both were less then $40 each with the sale price!
What are you waiting for? Why are you still reading this? they're going to run out of your size! GO!

Steal Of The Day..

As anyone who knows me can tell you, I'm not big on color... Black, white, grey, and any shade of beige but rarely color. One of the few colors that works its way into my wardrobe in little bursts is deep purple and these booties are exactly the direction I would go with it...
Steve Madden "Tribbe" Nordstrom.com $59.90

Chicago Photo Shoot..

Sorry for not updating in quite a while, but I have a valid excuse... I just arrived home from doing a photo shoot in Chicago with an amazing photographer/editorial hair and makeup artist named Jean Sweet.
My co-worker ( and awsome hair and make-up artist) Christa and I spent a very busy weekend in the Windy City learning some of Jean's trade secrets, as well as getting some georgous shots.

More photos to come...

Big Names, Tiny Prices...

For the past few years a wave of democratization has been sweeping its way through the world of fashion... or at least the world of retail.

In the fashion industry's attempt to be appealing (or at least available) to the masses, established designers have been doing collaborations and exclusive collections with mass retailers. In the past five or so years we've seen everyone from Lagerfeld and H&M to Rodarte and Target combining their recognizable names to make fashion that most women can actually afford.

This is something that I, of course, strongly approve of. While you'll never be able to expect the same exact quality from a $19.99 shirt that you can from a $199.99, its still so great to be able to have access to the look of a designer who's aesthetic you admire.

A few of my favorites available online right now...

RACHEL Rachel Roy Dress available at Macys.com - I adore the length and cut of this dress, its youthful and fun and the print is very cool..

A few pieces from Gaultier for Target, coming soon to Target.com- The piece I'm eyeing is the trench coat (far left). Its classic but feels fresh and on-trend for this spring and I love the stripes on the chest.

I *Heart* Ronson for JCPenney at JCPenney.com-Charlotte Ronson's diffusion line is, in my opinion, one of the best out there. The clothes are feminine and flattering (check out the dress with the amazing peacock feather print) while throwing in some serious edge (faux leather pencil skirt) and the prices are true steals. I encourage you to head over to the website, there is a little pink romper that is just dying to be worn to spring's first outdoor party!
