New Photo Shoot Pictures!

Just wanted to share the results of my most recent photo shoot work...

These looks are from a shoot last week in the D.C. area. Photography credits go to Ivan Monge, who not only has an amazing eye but is also a very kind, positive guy to work with. The make-up is by the amazingly professional Dana Delaney and Oksana was our lovely and willing canvas...
Thanks guys!!

Currently Obsessed with...

Printed Dress!
Lately, I'm finding myself drawn to all of the fresh, modern variations on a printed day dress.. I'm not talking springtime florals and retro polka dots (neither being my taste) but the abstract, digital-looking prints that are everywhere right now. While they are very trendy, in a more low-key (style-wise) town, like Baltimore, I think they're the perfect way to stand out and still look appropriate for anything from the office to brunch..

Here are a few selections at varying price points :)

Tory Burch @ Net-a-porter.com, $375

RACHEL by Rachel Roy @ Macy's.com, orig. $89.99 sale: $69.99

Simply Vera by Vera Wang @ Kohl's.com $39.99

Home is where the art is....

My current style obsession is sprucing up my humble abode. Edward and I have been in our house for almost a year and I fear have become a bit complacent with its state of being. From the beginning, I had big ideas for this place and now feels like just as good a time as any to start making things happen...

My first project is a chair (originally from Ikea) that we purchased at a consignment shop. My goal is to recover it in a black and white striped fabric. I'm not entirely sure how one goes about doing that but I'm determined to figure it out...

I think our kitchen needs a bit of organizing and since I've begin to cook very frequently, its not only visual thing but an issue of function... and I love these little hanging fruit baskets :) I think this will be the first addition to the kitchen..

I've been completely in love lately with these pillows from Missoni Home. I'm not generally someone who likes that much color but the color scheme in our living room right now is grey, grey, and more grey... I think the combination of fun color and designer luxury is really great but unfortunately a tad out of my budget.. so I'll be on the hunt for something similar.
Lastly, the big goal is to put some work into the second bedroom, AKA my closet... I'm thinking about some kind of organizational unit with shelves and stuff... The room is also a hideous color so I may paint it :) any thoughts?

Steal of the Day..

Usually SOTD is a web shopping find, but I had to take the opportunity to share the good luck I had today...

As all of my Baltimore-based readers know, Vogue Revisited is an amazing high-end consignment shop in the Roland Park neighborhood. I try to go at least monthly to dig around for great deals and today I had the kind of luck that a fashion lover only dreams of..

A like-new Diane Von Furstenberg silk leopard print shirt-dress (very similar to the one pictured) for less then half the retail price!
I must have done something good in a past life...

Inspired by...

From top :
Full Fathom 5- My favorite Jackson Pollock... Thinking about it always makes me smile since seeing it at MOMA last fall
Lanvin Spring '10- Some of my favorite runway hair of the past year... one part messy diy updo, one part Hitchcock heroine... pretty sexy
Broken Bells- This album creates a mood that I haven't felt from new music in quite a while... a must-listen
Brigitte Bardot- I'm just having a Bardot moment... so pretty

Steal of the Day!

There seems to be one accessory trend that has really hit big in the past few seasons and that trend is the bib necklace...
To be honest, I was not a fan at first but I have been won over by the femininity and sparkle that a bejeweled bib necklace can bring to an otherwise tomboy-ish or even edgy look. My conversion may be due in part to Olivia Palermo (my fashion girl crush du jour) who has adopted this accessory as part of her signature look.
For those of you wanting to give the look a spin, I found two cute options for $20 each at JCPenny.com....
